[edit] Band History
Turbine (1989-1992) played a bit (at least once) as a three piece before they had a singer, and impressed people quite a bit. Indeed, they even claim to have won the Waukesha North High School Battle of the Bands. They started out at house parties and basements and played The Unicorn multiple times. They made a cassette recording which has since been lost.
Jack Krebs continued on playing in a multitude of bands with Matt Sumera in the cosmic/experimental post-rock vein and continues to rock HARD in Tempe, Arizona. Jack Krebs logs in here once in a while
Eric Stein is they guy from Optophobia Zine. He later played in the Madison band Buttress with Erik Landmark, Greg Peters and Matt Peters. Landmark and Greg Peters went on to form Xerobot in San Francisco. When that folded, Erik Landmark put together The Numbers. Much later in life Stein joined a short-lived Misfits cover band in Ann Arbor, Michigan called the Taliband.
Scott Mominee went on to join [[MilwHC::Bands:NaturalCause|Natural Cause]]. He then went on to Madison, where he played in Pachinko for a while. But in the end it seems he ended up in Austin Texas in a series of Horror Shockabilly bands, renaming himself "Creepy Scott."
Matt Sumera occupies a position as university sub-administrator somewhere.

[edit] Comments
- I remember hearing that Eric from Optophobia was in a band, and that they were good. For some odd reason I assumed he played drums. I finally saw them play somewhere, and people thought they were (musically) really good, and I kept hearing people say "You guys need a singer!" but really they could have probably just played without one. Anyway, I liked Turbine, well the early version, without a singer. :) --Pete Prodoehl 12:26, 30 Jan 2006 (PST)
- Would the third line-up Erin be the female Erin with blonde hair from Milwaukee who moved to Madison? If so I didn't know she was in Turbine. I believe she got married to Pat Hotlen of Natural Cause. If it's not that Erin, than disregard this... --Pete Prodoehl 18:26, 8 May 2006 (PDT)
