Stark Reality

Post-XYZine publication started by Zak Bundalo and Jason Tertadian (aka "Terd" but I'd rather you not call me that anymore). We threw together the first issue over a month or two, pulling long all-nighters in my bedroom fueled by double-brewed coffee and scamming computer time in our high school graphic arts class. The cover was a three color monstrosity that was printed on an AB Dick 360 in the same class under the guise of a class project for the printing press guys. After I started to drag my ass on issue two Zak kicked me out and marched ahead, producing a shitload of issues of various sizes and shapes. There were probably about 10-15 issues total but I'll have to dig out my crate to be sure. My writing usually amounted to little more than the neurotic whines of a well-fed momma's boy with too much anger for his own good. Pretty horrible if you asked me, but that's growing up I guess. Zak, on the other hand, always had a way with words and graphic imagery, that's for sure. His stuff is as entertaining and relevant now as ever and it's too bad he never really moved forward with his potential to stir up shit.

Zak and Pete put out a split-issue of Stark Reality and Psychotherapy called "Psycho Reality" which had silk screened covers and was a strange combination of the two zines. --Pete Prodoehl and Jason Tertadian
