Band History

Early in 1989 (Feb./March) Bill Lorenz had a dream that he and his friend/traveling companion Dave were in a band called Vomit, so they made it so. Bill and Dave moved in to an upper flat on Center and Holton, that was already inhabited by Ruben and his girlfriend Jen Holt, and the 'Vomit House' was born.

They developed such a repuattion for drunken obnoxiousness, and were banned from playing at so many venues, that they had to play under an assumed name. Vomit played a show at The Boardwalk under the name "Tie Dyed Butterflies" along with Numb Nuts and Compound Red. Their set lasted three minutes. The power was turned off, Buster threw a beer glass, the police were called... This was a typical show...

The band continued on in various forms (and locations) until summer 1995.

Comments

  • I know absolutely nothing about these guys, except that I recall them opening for a few shows I attended at The Odd Rock. They had somewhat of a GG Allin type of schtick, minus the poo. Oh, I see one member is now in a band called Loomis...interesting... --Kevin (XYZine)
  • When I was young, wide-eyed and impressionable I somehow got a ride in a garbage filled cadillac from Beautiful Bert and his "girlfriend" to a party at the vomit house. Had a great time partying with the Vomit Posse and Bert. The band drank to much to play (well)--Mark
  • Didn't Motorhead Mike play bass for a time? --Cash
