Band History

Hardware was started by Pete and Dave and they eventually got Todd to play drums, and then the search for the perfect vocalist ended when they found Dan Valerian from Cleveland, who happened to be attending school in Milwaukee...

(They did play a mini-set at the loft in Madison once as a three piece before Dan came along, but it wasn't really much to see.)

Comments

  • I dispute the fact that Joe Kawczynski was in Hardware, though I could be totally wrong, I just don't remember that! --Pete Prodoehl 12:35, 17 Aug 2005 (PDT)
  • I recall one instance practicing in my parents basement calling Joe becasue he did not show up, getting into a huge screaming match with his girlfriend on why he didn't show up. Actually any problems we had with him I had to deal with his girlfriend. I threw him out of the band after the blow out with his girlfriend. I didn't even speak to him about it she wouldn't let me talk to him. I also remember practiceing in Pete's parents basement with Me, Randy N, Pete and Joe waiting for Dan Duchaine to show, he didn't so we decided to look for a new singer. --Dave Kaz 13:18, 17 Aug 2005 (PDT)
  • Ok, I do seem to remember some of that. The girlfriend issues anyway. I shall withdraw my dispute for now. ;) --Pete Prodoehl 18:54, 17 Aug 2005 (PDT)
  • I have proof of Joe's involvement I have a picture of him at practice. Here it is. --Dave Kaz 07:46, 25 Aug 2005 (PDT)

  • Dave is correct, and I was wrong. Note Joe's Flying V, Dave's PIUS sweatshirt, and my bass, in the photo, as it looks like I took the picture while lying on the floor... --Pete Prodoehl 13:09, 16 Oct 2005 (PDT)
  • While Dan Duchaine is not listed above, he attended a few practice sessions and was a potential member of the band. --Pete Prodoehl 06:40, 17 Aug 2005 (PDT)
  • The vehicle used to haul the band and equipment was often Pete's Plymouth Fury III which had a big trunk and could sit 6 comfortably... for dinner... This inspired Dan to suggest we write a song called 'Enter the Fury' --Pete Prodoehl 06:40, 17 Aug 2005 (PDT)
  • Hardware used to practice at Muskie Bill's in Bay View (down the street from Rushmor and The Odd Rock) because that's where Dan lived. --Pete Prodoehl 06:40, 17 Aug 2005 (PDT)
  • I wonder if someone has video footage of Hardware when we played that MS Benefit show at the Odd Rock... It might have been Mike Stanioch, I should ask Milt about it... --Pete Prodoehl 15:19, 18 Aug 2005 (PDT)
  • I found a VHS video tape that says 'Hardware' on it. I think it's from the MS Benefit mentioned above. I'll have to check it out and digitize it. --Pete Prodoehl 07:16, 5 Dec 2005 (PST)
