History
Named after the famous shoe from the early 1970's, Earthshoe was formed from the ashes of NRK. In the fall of 1985, NRK guitarist Jeff O'Rourke teamed with Andy Flessas (vocals) to put together one of Milwaukee's first "skate" bands. Along with bassist Dave Foster and drummer Tim Shanahan, Earthshoe recorded over fifty original songs which were released on several cassette tapes. Earthshoe's very first show was at the Lake Park Pavillion North in the fall of 1985. Drummer Tim Shanahan eventually moved to Houston and was replaced by Mike Olmann. Notable shows included opening for Agent Orange in Madison and Naked Raygun and Toxic Reasons in Milwaukee. The group disbanded in 1987. Today Andy lives in Las Vegas; Jeff is in Los Angeles and both Dave and Mike live in the greater Milwaukee area. --Peter F

Tim Shanahan's older brother was Pat Shanahan who was the base player for G.F.O. G.F.O and Disdain were two more of Milwaukee's first skate bands. Both GFO and Disdain were formed in 1980.
